I am sure that as keen plants people we know the importance of bees and make sure that they are catered for in our gardens.

The talk will look at a little of the evolution of bees, the types of bees that you may find and their role in the environment, followed by a quick look at some aspects of the honeybee, the most widely managed species of bee in the world.

What could be better on a December day than to think back to warm sunny days filled with the gentle drone of bees busily collecting nectar from a wealth of summer flowers?
