New Conservation Co-ordinator

E-mail Print PDF
Message from Margaret Tyler

I am delighted that Chris Davies is taking over the role of Conservation Co-ordinator from me and I wish her all the best. I am sure you will all give her the support that you have given me, which has made my six years as Conservation Co-ordinator a very enjoyable experience and enabled me to get to know many of you that I otherwise would not have - very best wishes to you for 2009.

CONSERVATION SCHEME
text and photos by Margaret Tyler

The HPS Constitution includes a commitment to conserve lesser-known hardy perennials and in order to fulfil this commitment the Conservation Scheme was put in place. Its aims are to preserve older, rarer or lesser-known hardy perennial plants and to maintain records so that the knowledge of how to grow these plants successfully is not lost, and can be of use, interest and enjoyment to HPS members and others.
