January  2007 - The year started on a very unsettled theme with constant areas of low pressure moving in from the Atlantic; this made January 2007 a very mild, wet and windy month. It was the warmest January in England since 1921. The most notable weather event of the month was the severe gale on the 18th when wind gusts reached 70-80 mph causing much damage.

Summer 2007

Summer 2007 (June, July, August) Temperatures were just slightly below average and sunshine was below average across our region during summer 2007. But it was the rainfall which was the main feature of the summer across the country; it was the 8th wettest summer in the England & Wales rainfall series which goes back to 1766, it was the wettest since 1912. When including May it was the 3rd wettest May-August period since 1766.

May 2007- was an extremely wet month across our region, a big contrast to the very dry April when large Across Norfolk and Suffolk rainfall totals for May were 90-170mm and several places had their wettest ever May.Alby in north Norfolk recorded 156mm, Howe in south Norfolk 145.75mm and Pakenham in Suffolk 118mm. Pakenham recorded 56mm during the week 7th - 13th making it the wettest week there since August 2002.

September to December 2007

It was a month with average to below average rainfall across Norfolk and Suffolk, rainfall totals ranged from 20mm to 65mm. The wettest areas were parts of Norfolk with monthly totals of 62mm at Howe and 56.5mm at Alby. The driest areas were in Suffolk, Pakenham had 40mm but some places in Suffolk had less than 20mm.
