Summer 2007 (June, July, August) Temperatures were just slightly below average and sunshine was below average across our region during summer 2007. But it was the rainfall which was the main feature of the summer across the country; it was the 8th wettest summer in the England & Wales rainfall series which goes back to 1766, it was the wettest since 1912. When including May it was the 3rd wettest May-August period since 1766.
