1-acre plantsman’s garden of all-year interest. For the winter opening a vast collection of snowdrops, cyclamen, hellebores etc. plus greenhouses containing rare bulbs and tender plants

We started collecting snowdrops around 1980.  At that time we were introduced to some of the named varieties which were circulating in fairly small numbers between interested gardeners.  S. Arnott and Atkinsii were among the first which we acquired.  Even today they will hold their own against most of the modern varieties.  The start of the Galanthus Galas around the country had a huge impact, many varieties then became available and they were eagerly purchased by many enthusiasts.  The current trend of snowdrops with outer green markings are much sought after and current prices reflect the popularity of these types.
